PADI Bushbuck Ridge

PADI Bushbuck Ridge facilitators also:
• Act as advisors within their community regarding issues relating to disability.
• Act on accessibility.
• Offer parent counselling

PADI Bergville

2001 saw the start of another initiative in a semi-rural area centred round Bergville in Kwa-Zulu Natal thereby empowering other people with disabilities to take their rightful place in society, using PADI Bushbuck Ridge as a blueprint. Due to the success of these initiatives a new branch has recently been established in Pietermaritzburg – Kwa-Zulu Natal.

PADI Pietermaritzburg

A survey was conducted in 2005 by various persons in the Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas, as a result it was established that a PADI branch was necessary to "Educate and Create an Awareness on Disability" for non-disabled persons.
In 2006 PADI Head Office (Johannesburg) opened yet another initiative, bringing the total number of branches to four (4). Since PADI Pietermaritzburg inception some one hundred and fourteen (114) seminars have been conducted for learners, churches and university, of which all the participants reached are of colour. At present this branch in conducting ten (10) seminars per month.

The branch is operated by a office manager and two (2) facilitators, all of whom are people with disabilities who due to their expertise and knowledge of disability are able to dispel the "Myths and Misconception " that exist.
